Almost ready for the 1 piece center section. They estimate the time from when the center section leaves Crown Point Beach to in place will be 19 hours
Ole Yeller just dont blend in ha ha
1 of the 2 ferry boats moving traffic while the bridge is built. They run constantly 24/7. During the winter they ran back and forth even empty to keep the broken channel from freezing.
Look righ in front of the crane mid span on the distant shore. The arch you see is the center section. By water its roughly 5 miles from the bridge to crown point beach where they built the center span.
1/2 of the center span is already up on barges. I guess its going to be moved and lifted soon.
Temporary ferry landing on the New York side.
Ka-Boom, no more original bridge. Blown up December 28 2009
