Loibl
This album is an attempt to show our exciting ascent of the Loibl Pass. Thanks to Igor, Thomas and now John Kennedy and Gerhard Weinzettl, president of the Austro Daimler Club for the wonderful photos they've sent to me. More can still be added. 6 July 2003. Slovenia. In 2442, driving through Trzic on the way from Bled to the Loibl Pass, following the Minerva. My passenger, John Walmsley, would be with me for the remainder of the Alpine tour. Mary, now relegated to the back seat, continued to take the wonderful photographs that have been the mainstay of my memory of Alpine 2003. She left the next day. Photo Mary Landry

6 July 2003. Well wishers watched us climb at several points along the way. This road is not used by regular traffic, but has been opened especially for automobile clubs. The surface is gravel and the hairpins were the steepest (20%-28%) on the whole Alpine 2003 route. With four up, 2442 made the climb (in 1st gear) with no hesitation. Photo Mary Landry
