OLD BRAMPTON BANDS

OLD BRAMPTON BANDS V REUNION DANCE

May 9, 2015 at the HANSA HAUS

Don't miss this opportunity to spend a fun-packed evening catching up with old friends and schoolmates.  You can dance, party, or simply sit back and enjoy the great music we grew up with during the 60's and early 70's  ... performed by many of the same great Brampton and surrounding area musicians who entertained us at those wonderful school, church, hall, and arena dances back in the day.

Previous year's reunion dances have sold out weeks in advance ... May 9 is rapidly approaching ... don't miss out ... order you tickets today.  Ticket info can be found by enlarging the first photo below, or by visiting the "  Old Brampton Bands " facebook page.

If you have any questions, email us at:  oldbramptonbands@yahoo.ca

Please visit the " OLD BRAMPTON BANDS " FACEBOOK page, become a member, and spread the word and this link to your friends: https://www.facebook.com/groups/OldBramptonBands/

Please check out this year's reunion poster plus many photos of the old Brampton we remember .... Scroll down to take a look.

We'd like to send a big thanks out to everyone who's helped make the Old Brampton Bands 2010, 2011, 2012and 2013 reunion dances a reality, and are looking forward to seeing everyone again this May.   We are also asking anyone who has related photos, memories, or information we could add to the site, to contact us at:  OldBramptonBands@yahoo.ca

Looking forward to seeing everyone on May 11 !!!

I was out of school so early in my life (too interested in bass guitars and Harleys) that I never got to attend any Highschool reunions, and I missed the Orange Hall Reunion (nobody told me) so getting to see everyone at the BBR is just the iceing on this very old cake.
Looking forward to this year especially.

Notice the date of this post and then I say to myself.....crickey where have I been. Missed this altogether. Have had the pleasure of seeing some ole friends from back then but holey cow there are so many names that I recognize that they bring back the lost 'in the memory bank' moments. Golly....Joan Ramsey you were such a heart throb and I remember your red '65 GTO ragtop!!!! Bet you wish you had that today.
Gary Bowman how the heck are you??
Everyone I am so sorry I missed this but there is always 2013.

Would like to take this opportunity to thank Mike for all his hard work making all of this available to all of us and to say hi to all the Brampton gang. Growing up in Brampton was a wonderful experience and being apart of the band scene whether in a band or just loving the music became such a big part of all of us. I truly don't know what I would have done with out this music connection in my life and I owe it all to those responsible for giving the Brampton Bands a place to polish their skills for all of us to enjoy. Mike..... I am working on collecting all the pictures and other interesting items from this exciting time, in the mean time please feel free to use any photos from our web site.  thanx again

Hey...Brampton Orange Hall, The Thunderbird and The Inferno were regular venues for us.."Bobbi Lee Justice and The Scepters"..back in the 60's/70's...I have many fond memories and pictures of those gigs. Sounds like you had a great party, wish I had known. We're still playing after all these years...so if you have another one, let me know. Keep Rockin'...BLJ

Can't believe the members of Capt'n Acne & The Clearasil Pimp Band  -- Me and Steve Ridgely & Group de Jour (i.e. anyone else with a pulse) -- were not asked to headline. Damn! Great party and I hope to hell you do it again!

Looking at the pictures brings back memories.I grew up in Bramalea from 1961 to 1975.I enjoyed the pictures of Quartet Music Centre as I was one of teachers  who taught Guitar and
Keyboard in the late 60s. I miss those times now hitting age 60.
Some of my friends Dave leithwood, Allen Park,Gord Macpherson,
Frank Zucherro,Bob Kotte, etc.
Keep up the good work on this site of days gone bye.

Good Luck to-nite boys....make it happen
 -
Gary Bowman, Sat, 15 May 2010 2:45PM
It's been fun pretending to be all of you, but having adopted all these personas I'm beginning to feel a little more schitzoid than usual. Oh, and while I'm coming clean I didn't impersonate a certain DP that was DM.
 -
Robert Elliot, Mon, 10 May 2010 3:53PM
I'll be there to raise the old school spirit. Someone should raise another school spirit, namely me. It a bit dull here in Solid Gold Cadillac land, although Obama did bail us out.  being corporal free is not all it's cracked up to be, although the Son gives us a great meal of loaves and fishes (Sushi) and some fine Cana brand water into wine. Get to that damn ouija board, Napper! (I love those delicate boys with the soft, flowing tresses.) And I feel a bit of negative energy emanating from the vicinity of one D.P.
 -
JR, Sun, 9 May 2010 11:28AM
I can hardly wait till next weekend. I've been practicing my hair flip for months now, plus I can fit into my old Vincent Steel ball hockey jersey. It's a real fashion statement.
 -
Bob Williams, Sat, 8 May 2010 5:20AM
Last time they let me out me and Eda Warren almost got into a fight with a couple of other chics at the Loretto Tavern. It was at the pool table and every time I see them red balls I go a little nuts. Anyway, as long as there ain't no pool table at the Hansa Haus I should be okay, I think.
 -
Kay Zettle, Sat, 8 May 2010 5:16AM
Hey you're giving go-go dancers a bad name. If I still had my white patent leather go-go boots I'd...wait a minute, I do still have them along with that adorable po-boy cap and faux chinchilla mini. Unfortunately, I've been overdoing the KFC for the past forty years and can't get out of my front door.
 -
Joan Ramsey, Fri, 7 May 2010 11:09AM
I've been looking for my blue-tinted sunglasses since the summer of 1967. I accidentally left them at the Putzy-Futzy Disco in Yorkville after the go-go girl slapped them off my face, also by accident. She said I reminded her of an ex-boyfriend with whom she had had a bad acid trip, or the relationship was like a bad acid trip. In any event there was a bad acid trip in there somewhere. So if I find the elusive glasses I'll be at this old Bramalea Bands gig, rooting on my favourite old Bramalea Band, "Sigmund Sprottley and No Left Turns Left". See you all there.

Is that like a meadow in spring or a meadow full of springs?
 -
Dinky D, Tue, 4 May 2010 4:13PM
These days I just put a big spring down the front of my pants and bounce right back up like a colt in a spring meadow.
 -
Slinky, Tue, 4 May 2010 1:43PM
Will there be oxygen dispensers at this affair because after about two minutes of boogalooing I need a big hit of the old H2O. And defilbulators? What about adrenaline shots to the heart? Better have several of those ready, oh yeah and knee braces for when Slinky does the splits.
 -
Lark Clark, Tue, 4 May 2010 11:19AM
If there's a stop sign kicking contest, I'm on it, baby!
 -
Steve Payne, Tue, 4 May 2010 11:10AM
Oh yeah baby, it's a happenin' thang going down with all you cats and kitties. Like shakin' too much and wow it's so like far out, man. Me and Bob will be there with tie-dye on, air kisses, and love beads for everybody.
 -
Happiness Mitchell, Tue, 4 May 2010 11:05AM
As a genuine and qualified Afro-American LA whore, I say that jackass Hugh Grant should be removed from this site. It might upset a certain girl who's initials are DP.
 -
Divine Brown, Mon, 3 May 2010 7:22PM
Andy McDowell and I still haven't tied the knot after 18 weddings and 6 funerals. However, I will be attending this musical frippery with Bubbles Lindhorst hanging from my arm. I hope Slim does the drum bit for "Keep On Dancing". And who stuck a bee in D. Preston's bonnet?
 -
Hugh Grant, Sat, 1 May 2010 7:31AM
Debbie, you got to learn to chill out a little, relax, put your feet up, ease on down the road. You're wound up tighter than a crab's ass and that's water-tight. Who knows, there may be two Debbie Prestons(heaven help us)or the other Debbie Preston exists in some parallel universe. And finally I'd stay away from those hard drugs, they make you paranoid.
 -
Steve Preston, Fri, 30 Apr 2010 9:19AM
Someone is using my name ... I never said wrote / said /thought -anything like that ...."being on crack??"... that really angers me someone putting my name to that stupid statement.. look for another Debbie I would think... I'm looking forward to the show for the music, full stop.
 -
Deborah Preston, Fri, 30 Apr 2010 6:11AM
If anyone hears about someone dying who has tickets, please let me know and I'll contact his or her spouse to see if I can buy their tickets.
 -
Gail Spencer, Thu, 29 Apr 2010 7:17AM
Hey Walt, don't ask me which band is better, okay.
 -
Carolyn Walters, Wed, 28 Apr 2010 8:57PM
Looking for partners for rang tag...anybody?
 -
John Norquay, Wed, 28 Apr 2010 8:56PM
You're all welcome to grab mine.
 -
Anda Leipurts, Wed, 28 Apr 2010 1:37PM
If anybody grabs my ass while they're dancing with me, I'll break their fingers.
 -
Paula Picot, Wed, 28 Apr 2010 1:35PM
So, Ellen Smith is gonna be there, right?
 -
Simon Broomhall, Wed, 28 Apr 2010 1:31PM
Wow, like this is like way too much, I mean like it's like I'm stoned or something or in like the wayback machine. I'm like totally freaked, man. All these old bands just like in the like old days like, like you know? I better take another hit of the bong try to calm down, wow this is like so psychadelic. Now I'm hungry, where's Sonny's when you need them?
 -
Andy Mills, Wed, 28 Apr 2010 1:29PM
I'm so glad I was able to get tickets. It'll be interesting to see how much the girls from BCSS have aged since 1969. I probably won't want to fondle them like I did back in the day!
 -
Bob Kennedy (BCSS Art Dept.), Wed, 28 Apr 2010 9:21AM
Hey Zac you old hound dog, it's tough when the old organ goes on the fritz. Have you considered surgery?
 -
Russ Byrd, Tue, 27 Apr 2010 2:41PM
If my organ was working I'd be performing at the gig. Trouble is I blew a grapple-grommet and the ring has been shot for a while now. Otherwise life is peachy.
 -
Zac Marshall, Tue, 27 Apr 2010 2:38PM
Call me Phaircules at the gig or I'll pound you.
 -
Tom Phair, Tue, 27 Apr 2010 2:34PM
I'm not allowed out of the house after 8:30 pm but me and my massive head want to wish everyone a happy new year
 -
Steve Wright, Tue, 27 Apr 2010 2:31PM
These imposters using the names of legitimate, upstanding ex students is making me twitch. Please cease and desist. Shawcross: hair of the collar! Leipurts: back to your prison cell! Steve Wright: back to Borneo to have your massive head shrunk!
 -
JR Willis, Mon, 19 Apr 2010 6:47AM
Thanks Mike, I already use that to keep my ass cheeks from hitting the floor, but now that you mention it, a little more in the right location could really help me shake it up without inflicting serious injury. You're a saviour and for that I'll let you do the dirty bop with me, in which case you'll need your own roll of duct tape.
 -
Claire Thornton, Fri, 16 Apr 2010 1:30PM
Claire:  I would suggest duct tape.
 -
Mike Briant, Fri, 16 Apr 2010 11:10AM
Does anyone remember how to do the Shingaling? I thought it was like a cross between the Frug and the Harlem Shuffle, but when I attempted it, I whacked myself in the face with my left breast. Please help, I don't want to decapitate anyone at the reunion.
 -
Claire Thornton, Fri, 16 Apr 2010 7:43AM
Going to the old Brampton Bands gig will be like being on crack and reliving your worst nightmare at the same time. Be afraid, be very afraid.
 -
Debbie Preston, Fri, 16 Apr 2010 7:39AM
Speaking of crack, pull up your damn pants. Who do you think you are the cable guy?
 -
steve byrd, Wed, 14 Apr 2010 9:15PM
Hey Anda it was Debbie Preston on crack.
 -
Dina Vecmanis, Wed, 14 Apr 2010 9:12PM
Ok, who the hell has been using my name and putting in fake emails?  Shawcross, or Wally, STOP IT.
 -
Anda, Wed, 14 Apr 2010 1:50PM
Dang, wish I had been paying attention and got a ticket...and didn't live so far away....anyway...Hello everyone from the distant past...special Mike LeGross..she was beautiful and you were the gentleman about it..Lol...later folks

Mike, time has sculpted my face into the shape of a giant prune...it's not a pretty site. Fortunately I always keep a large paper bag at the ready.
 -
Walt Leipurts, Tue, 23 Mar 2010 8:42AM
Nice work on the photo collection. They brought back some dusty memories of days of yore. It will be great to see how time has sculpted the faces and shadows of those memorable personalities. Look'n forward to the reunion.
