I am the great-granddaughter of Mary Porter Shahan, who married George Allman Shahan. Mary and George's daughter Eunice was my grandmother. I am related to Wellington Porter and Nellie Travis. I would like to get in touch with Porters from that line.

I believe Wellington Porter is my great grandfather. My grandmother was his daughter Martha Porter Fellows.  My mother is her daughter Janice Fellow Van Voorhis.  

Wellington Porter is listed as a Glasco stone dealer.  Washington Porter (brother? father?) was associated with a Saugerties blue stone quarry. James Porter (earliest Saugerties Porter I've found) is associated with saw mills and grist mills.

I have been told that Wellington was related to the Porters mentioned in Civil War Naval History:   Admiral David Dixon Porter (1813–1891), Commodore David Porter (1780–1843).  I believe they were of Philadelphia.

What a treat to have found this website.  I am the great granddaughter of Wellington and Nellie, therefor the granddaughter of Wakely who married Lucy Estelle Finger. They had a son Roland Wellington Porter who sired me, born in 1936. I had never seen any of these pictures. I would love to chat more.

I am the grandaughter of Ruth Porter Mullen daughter of Bernard Henry and Charlotte Burtt Porter of Burlington VT. My Porter line goes back to Dr Daniel Porter Killed at Crown Point NY during the revolution.Do any of these people have relatives within my Porter Group. I know Charlotte was born 1860 and she in particular is giving me fits trying to get any background on her.
