These are photos of growth charts that I painted for my grandchildren: Caleb, Conner, Cole and Caitlyn. Since it was difficult for me to work on a four foot board, I chose to work on "bite-sized" pieces, then attach to the larger board. The backing boards are 4 feet tall by 5 1/2 inches wide, and the pictures are painted on 1/8 inch birch, measuring 3" x 4" to 4" x 6".
Note: I didn't get pictures of Caleb's in progress. I'll post as soon as I can get pics of them on the wall.

Conner loves vehicles, so he has a variety! His blocks are 3" x 4". 2003
Two more vehicles. Pictures were based on photos from a variety of sources.
The NAPA car was painted from a photo in a racing magazine, and this used, full-sized loader was being sold on Ebay!
The last of Conner's vehicles.
Cole likes animals, so I did his chart with a Noah's Ark theme, based on an altered Betty Caithness pattern. Blocks are 4" x 6". 2003
Animals in Cole's second block.
Noah and more animals, block three.
Last block of Cole's chart.
Caitlyn, who turned three in April 2005, loves her dishes, "cooking" and shopping--hence the purse. These blocks are all 4" x 6". 2005
Giving buggy rides is a favorite activity. The pram is based on a Juliet Martin element in "Times Remembered."
Anything "Princess" is a hit. Design was from a coloring book.
Caitlyn also loves her babies and kitties. This composition was from a Pat Wakefield book.
