Amsterdam (July 11, 2016)| We flew into Amsterdam and stayed on a houseboat on the Amstel River. A little cozy, but worth the experience. Such a cool city, especially on a bicycle in the summer. Can't be beat. As always when we visit, we meet up with Karen's cousin Andrea. She is always a gracious host. |

Hamburg (July 15, 2016)| Hamburg is Germany's 2nd largest city and was heavily bombed in WWII destroying much of the old architecture. We stayed in the Hafencity district, which is the old industrial area being repurposed into hip new area. Our hotel was über kool. |

Miniatur Wunderland (July 14, 2016)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACkmg3Y64_s
This was the main reason for coming to Hamburg. An entire warehouse contains a world in miniature of incredible detail. A person could spend an entire year trying to observe all the details. It's really beyond description. |

Lübeck (July 16, 2016)| Lübeck is an old city on an river island. It was an important city hundreds of years ago, but is now just a quaint town. It is notable for having a lot of large churches in such a small place. |

Copenhagen (July 17, 2016)| I feel I didn't get to see the best of what Copenhagen has to offer. We were in the touristy center of the city. Nonetheless, we saw some interesting things. |

Santa Claus festival (July 19, 2016)| Santa Clauses from around Europe gather in Klampenborg, Denmark every year for a conference. One of their rituals is to go swimming in the sea. At least the weather was warm. |

Åarhus (July 21, 2016)| Åarhus is the 2nd largest city in Denmark and its main attraction is the modern art museum, AROS. We weren't disappointed. Beautiful building and very nice exhibits. We hung out in the Latin Quarter which has a lot of restaurants, bars, and shopping. A really nice city except that it smells like pig shit when the wind blows a certain direction from the pig farms up-wind. Nobody's perfect. |

Stockholm (July 24, 2016)| I really enjoyed Stockholm. Unfortunately, I didn't really get a lot of photos. Guess I'll have to go back, but not when is so crowded. |

Vasa ship (July 26, 2016)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vasa_(ship)
This was the largest warship made at the time and sank in the harbor after less than a mile after its maiden launch with thousands of people watching. After over 300 years, she was raised, reconstructed, and put in a special museum. |
