D&E Pin Stop
D&E almost always used a pin back with a pin stop when using the 3 piece (also called built in) pin back as opposed to the one piece pin back. Here is our training on one piece pin backs in D&E. https://imageevent.com/kjwshopping/detrainingalbums/depinbacks
Just because a brooch HAS a stopper that it doesn’t automatically indicate Juliana. Rather, it’s one of the first steps to determine if the brooch could be Juliana. After seeing the pin stop, you THEN continue to look for other clues to identify it is Juliana.
Non pin stop brooches have been noted in D&E designs. Mostly in the later cast pieces. They have been found in a few rhinestone pieces too. It is possible they are replacement pin backs, or something used when D&E ran out of the normal pin stop type. | Album by Karla Wacker. Photos by Karla Wacker. 1 - 5 of 5 Total. 1837 Visits. |
