We have focused our efforts to find and preserve the original old traits & characteristics with original verifiable pedigree of the amazing Giant Rat Terrier. Giant Rat Terriers are not simply large Rat Terriers! We have sought out lines from old breeders all over the USA. We have produced some excellent females for the giant Rat Terrier breed and hope to for many years to come. I take a great deal of pride in producing top quality examples of this amazing dog. Our family enjoys the stewardship of the large Giant Rat Terrier and hope to see them flourish and prosper for many years to come.

Over 90% of a puppies temperament comes directly from its mothers rearing, without a rock solid dam you have nothing. I am quite critical of all females used because we strive for an all around versatile dog with high intelligence and die hard loyalty.

***Here at Seegmiller Kennel we strive for an erect ear, 25-30# weights on females and 16-18 inch at the shoulder height, we breed for AKC standards.

Type A body structure with good rear angulation,beautiful fronts & hard top line and nice tight cat paw. I like to see a female with a somewhat broader skull and a wedge down to a nicely squared off muzzle. The overall appearance of a sleek and muscled hunting machine, with a fine short hair coat. I will not breed chocolates, blues, merles into the line as I am a traditionalist and desire the original look. I believe we have succeeded in this quite nicely and I also look forward to the future with bright optimism.

1. GRCH Seegmillers Red Berries (BERRI)

The little red fire engine that could!!! Berri is the culmination of many years as a dedicated breeder of Rat Terrier. We love our Berri! She is 16 inches tall and about 26 to 28 pounds all the time. I love her superb temperament, beautiful head piece and her natural instinct for hunting.

Berri is just returning from the show circuit in Colorado. She attained her Grand Champion status easily! We are so looking forward to spending time with her on the ranch now. Berri will be a corner stone of our program for many years to come.

2. Seegmillers Shine On Me (Shine) (SHINE)

From a grandson of our own Hattie Mae, to her great grand daughter here. Shine represents so many generations of truly stellar dogs! I love her sweet disposition but all business on the farm and in the fields.

Shine is 15.5 inches tall and around 26 pounds. I love her slick coat, erect ear set and her beautiful form.

3. Seegmiller's Valentina

Valentina is a stunning girl! The right size and proportions for what I was looking at this girl for! Val carries for some old lines that we have always cherished here. Rich deep red sable with white in a lovely pattern here. Sharp erect ear set and soft, short coat like a mink! Val has a sweet disposition that carries though in everything she does. I just adore this girl.

4. Seegmiller's Love, Lies & Alibis (Alibi)

The pure grace of this girl is amazing, so sweet and playful but still all Terrier tude. She is a phenomenal girl with many bloodlines from top dogs behind her! Ali is 15.4 inches tall and 24 pounds. She has a sharp erect ear set and a super soft silky coat. I love her form, she will be such a treasure here at the ranch.

Alibi is negative for PRA-PRCD, PLL, DM and many other genetically inherited disorders. She has a normal heart and nice tight patella. Scissors bite and a nose that is just off the charts. She is one of my best new squirrel dogs! We will begin serious training this Fall 2022.

5. Seegmiller's Make It Look HOT! (*Hottie*)

When you know you know, isn't that what they always say? Hottie is the culmination of a long time invested for our family. I made the decision to keep her after she basically looked at me and said...I am the ONE.

Hottie is 24 pounds and 15 inches tall, super slick very soft coated. Love her strong features and ear set, with that beautiful wedge shaped head. Makes for a typey animal and all around beautiful example of the Rat Terrier breed.

To honor a dog we lost way to soon, we have named our fabulous girl Rogue. She is 15 inches 24 pounds and just what we needed at the right time. Rogue is always just a little more interested in what I am doing than playtime with her buddies...that is OK by me.

Sharp erect ear set, slick tight coat of black/white/tan. Great bone and substance with smooth muscling. I love this dog!!!!

11. Seegmiller's Ebony

Ebony is the culmination of many years of work. Preservation begins with quality and this girl truly is high quality. She represents at least 30 years of what I have done here for the Rat Terrier as a breed whole. I can still think back to the dogs I began with, they were not the best. Many doubted my resolve and the potential I saw in the hidden genetics behind what I originally had. Always look to the past to preserve a breed.

A wise breeder once told me when I was very young that a true breeder never gives up, never quits, never accepts mediocrity. I have followed those values to the letter. My breed standard is my bible and I have done all I can as a breeder to perpetuate quality.

Ebony has a beautiful black coat, slick fur and a sharp erect ear set. She is compact and at 15 inches represents the balance of never overdone, never tiny and frail or toyish. Her 25 pounds is perfectly balanced weight to size and muscle.

12. Seegmiller's Let Them Eat Cake (Antoinette)

What can I really say, she is just as beautiful and captures the essence of what I am doing here. Preservation is key, this dog has all the qualities of the old farm type Rat Terrier, but has elegance and athleticism wrapped up in a beautiful package.

Slick black coat, erect ear, blocky wedge shaped head. She is a prime example and we are very very proud of this dog. So many generations are here....from the beginning to now, straight line SEEGMILLER BLOOD.

Amity is my little sawed off shotgun! She is just stacked with a ripped out muscular physique! I love her bright colored look sharp as she can be! Her coat is short tight and cosmetic as I prefer, a nice erect ear set. I love her go get it attitude but sweet as pie with her people. 21. Seegmiller's Shimmer

Shimmer is the last puppy from our beloved El Jefe and All Dolled Up. I was hoping for a stunning larger girl with bone and substance and this is just what we got!!! Shimmer is consistently used for hunting and excels at varmint termination. I adore her beautiful piebald "spotted" color and the bonus of "Calico". Shimmer is 16 inches and 34 pounds she has a gorgeous physique all athletic to the maximum here.
