While Mom and Dad were here, we all went over to Natural Bridge, VA and took a detour to Charlottesville to see Michie (pronounced "Mickey") Tavern and Monticello (which had a wait time of 1 hour, so we saw James Monroe's house instead). Also, went down to the Memorial Wall on Memorial Day, but couldn't walk the wall due to impending "stuff", but would have been able to walk it after 3 pm, which, with 4 kids (Sarah came along too) was MUCH TOO LATE in day!!!! We ended up at the FDR memorial and the Jefferson Memorial, but no pix from Jefferson mem as it was under construction.

enlarge 59KB, 576x432 8 MVC-009F As description above said, Monticello was far too long a wait, so we opted for James Monroe's Estate, was interesting, AND No Lines, No Waiting!!

enlarge 55KB, 576x432 22 MVC-018F The politically incorrect zoo was very cool, but we had to feel a bit guilty cuz the animals weren't exactly in their own habitats (not even close!!!). Got to get up close to the animals tho, so that was cool.
enlarge 59KB, 576x432 23 MVC-019F Aha, the most fun part of the zoo...the PETTING ZOO!!! Not like your typical petting zoo tho, this was basically Llama's (HUNGRY, HUNGRY llama's) and very nice little donkey/burro thingies...they were very patient...
enlarge 84KB, 576x432 24 1 MVC-002F The three bears, they clicked their tongues and nearly danced a jig in a circle, was cute!
