Happy Birthday Radhika! This time we had fun with Dora, The Explorer at Radhika's 4th birthday. Anu had planned a party inviting the neighboring kids. There was Dora cake, Dora games, Dora caps, Dora prizes and Dora, Dora, Dora everywhere... Both Priya and myself also helped Anu in setting up the party decorations. I tried my hand at magic too this time. This album has both high-res pictures and streaming quality videos. The videos include the games the kids played, Magic show, cake cutting and presents-opening ceremony by Radhika. Check out the album and enjoy. Wishing Radhika once again a happy 4th year birthday and thanks to Dora for making the party a big success.

enlarge 66KB, 800x600 1 The staging area: We decorated the wall with Happy Birthday flyers and balloons. Priya did the part of decorating the walls with color paper [intertwining of 2 rolls together].
enlarge 57KB, 800x600 2 Dora characters hanging from the wall. Look at the big balloons hanging from the center. On the balloons you can find "Happy Birthday" written.
enlarge 45KB, 800x600 3 Dora characters drawn by Priya for Radhika. They are stuck on the stairs to the side. Yes, Priya has actually drawn these characters and colored them for Radhika. Radhika loved these drawings. Again balloons and color paper decorated along the stairs.

enlarge 52KB, 600x800 5 Another Dora character - it is asking "where is my cake, Radhika?" By the way the border of balloons is not drawn by Priya. It is only the Dora character that she has skectched. :)
enlarge 54KB, 600x800 6 Ok Here is Dora - Dora is Radhika's favorite character on TV. She is an explorer and has a backpack with all the necessary items for exploration. So Radhika, what all have you explored with Dora so far ?
enlarge 47KB, 800x600 7 Yet another decaration on the wall.
enlarge 42KB, 600x800 8 More Dora decorations along the walls.
enlarge 48KB, 800x600 9 The Dora tree at the entrance of the house. Dora is enjoying with her friends by swinging on the tree.
enlarge 91KB, 800x600 10 The Dora Party table - Anu had bought Dora table cloth to cover the table. You can see the Dora cake and the gifts Radhika has received for her birthday on the table. The table cloth is looking so cute with Dora running from one side to the other side.
enlarge 61KB, 800x600 11 Thats the card Anu bought. It was a very complicated card with all cut outs that needed to be placed here and there. I think we were really running out of time to play around the castle and the princess. Well, I guess we had to get things ready for the real princess afterall...:)
enlarge 68KB, 800x600 12 The coloring books and crayons ready for kids to come and deploy them, err, color them.
enlarge 63KB, 600x800 13 Hi Birthday girl - she has a "Happy Birthday" tiara on her head. She is wearing her new birthday dress and ain't she looking cute?
enlarge 40KB, 600x800 14 Dora Pinata - You are smiling now - wait till you are beaten up, then come back and pose for a picture.
enlarge 88KB, 800x600 15 The Family - Ranga, Radhika and Anu, all wearing the Dora caps. Radhika is eager to cut the cake. This picture in particular is funny seeing Ranga and Anu with cute little Dora caps.
enlarge 33KB, 800x600 16 Thats Anu's friend and Venkat sitting on the couch. Venkat is startled to pose to for the camera.
enlarge 39KB, 800x600 17 Radhika with Priya aunty (neighbors of Anu and Ranga)
enlarge 43KB, 800x600 18 Hi Pita.....err Ramesh - Whats up dude ? Why aren't you wearing the Dora cap? Hey Wasn't dora your favorite character when we were back in college? What happened man, did she grow up for you?
enlarge 63KB, 800x600 19 Ok thats me - laugh as much as you can - but you cant get any funnier than this, ok! BTW I'm David Copperfield today and I want make somebody disappear today.
enlarge 67KB, 800x600 20 Radhika and Monica striking a pose for the camera.
enlarge 46KB, 800x600 21 Radhika at the coloring table. she really enjoyed coloring the book. I had to catch her at the right moment to get a good picture like this one. She is so shy - not of the camera, but of me. :(
enlarge 71KB, 800x600 22 Game 1: Count the number of M&Ms in this small bucket. Anu is showing a small basket to the kids and asking them to guess how many M&Ms we had filled into that. Well I think it was about 100, I must have eaten a few, but round about that.
enlarge 73KB, 800x600 23 The kids actually weighing the bucket and guessing the answer. How are they so sure that there really are M&Ms inside. Anu, I saw you eating a couple of them while the party was getting set. Are you sure you are not fooling around with the kids?
enlarge 61KB, 800x600 24 Now its the birthday girl's turn to guess. She was there when we packed so she ought to know. But you know what, to be fair Anu ate a few to even out Radhika's guess even if she were to get the correct one. Fair enough right? ! :)

enlarge 72KB, 800x600 26 Game 2: Count the number of Doras stuck on the walls.
enlarge 54KB, 800x600 27 I think Monica and Radhika won this game.
enlarge 1.98MB, 800x600 28 Game 2 Video.
enlarge 78KB, 800x600 29 Game 3: Pass the Dora... This is the traditional game of psssing the pillow and eliminating the one who gets it. This version is slightly different - the one who doesnt have the Dora will win :)
enlarge 70KB, 800x600 30 Originally we planned on only the kids playing the game, turned out it was getting completed quickly so we pulled in the adults too. Look at Ramesh, eagerly waiting to get his hands on his Dora...after a long time.
