Antigua 2004 - Runaway Bay
Photos of Runaway Bay and our stay at Pelican Studio.
Pelican Studio is a studio apartment right on the beach.  It is owned by renowned Caribbean artist Gilly Gobinet.  The place is so beautifully decorated and has so much character.  If you are looking for a place to stay in Antigua, we would highly recommend this place.  Check it out at:  http://www.pelican-studio.com

Everyday we would dig our toes in the sand and spend the day on the beach

Here's JH relaxing on the sand.  In the back is the front of Pelican Studio.  The studio is upstairs.  You can see the front porch in this photo.

The water is very clear most of the days, especially when it is sunny.  My feet were in about 1 foot of water in this photo.  This photo's colors were not altered in any way.

My feet in this photo were under 4 feet of water.  You are still able to see your feet even at this depth.

We bought some lobsters one day.  These are Caribbean Spiny Lobsters.  The one on the left is the typical kind.  The one on the right looks different as it doesn't have the spines.

Here's me showing of the lobster catch of the day!  JH is getting ready to grill them in the background.  The studio comes with a barbecue grill.

Nothing hits the spot like grilled lobster with a bottle of Ting, a local grapefruit-flavored soda.

We splurged one night and went out to dinner at the Coconut Grove.  If you are in Antigua, you must try this restaurant.  It is in an amazing location right on the beach in Dickenson Bay by Siboney Resort and it has fantastic food!
