samyang 85/1.4 vs EF85/1.8 (0909)A 5DMkII meets an EF85/1.8 and a Samyang 85/1.4
There is an intro image showing the scene and then a pair of 100% crops from a portion just under the center of the image followed by pair of crops from the right border of the image.
The crops are 100% and totally unsharpened, JPG quality is 10 in Photoshop terms so anyone can download an image and sharpen at will.
The images are all raw, developed using ACR with everything set to zero, or default (exceptions are white balance and curves which was set to a straight boring line)
The Canon lens is always to the left, the Samyang always to the right.
The first, outdoor, series show images taken at a distance of somewhere between 25 and 30 meters.
The second, USAF chart, series shows 100% crops of USAF charts placed in the center of the image and to the left at a position answering to a crop to an aspect of ratio of 1:1.33.
The shooting distance was 55xFL, or 4.67m

They are taken raw, developed in ACR 4.3.1 with all settings set to neutral, default, zero with the exception of curves (straight line) and white balance and exposure (adjusted for an RGB-value of 110 at patch 22).
After developing they are resized to 50% and converted to sRGB.
There was no sharpening, no levels, no curves no... involved here. |
