Thankfully we made it to Gyantze in like 3 hours.  SO after putting down my stuff I went off to explore this place on my own.

Its ruins of an old Tibetan fort that defended British "invasion" of sorts in the early 1900's

The British came into Tibet basically pissed that no one was trading with them.

So they marched to Lhasa and said "Trade with us."  And so the Tibetans did.  Basically because they were throwing stones at the guns that the British had.

This fort was the site of one of the larger "battles" between the UK and the Tibetans.
