Southern Africa, concluded (October 17 - November 3, 2003)| Victoria Falls, known locally as "the smoke that thunders," provided limited spray, as the rainy season had not yet begun, but the expected rainbows did not disappoint us. We could see Zimbabwe just across the bridge. Also included was a visit to a rural school of 1,000 students. The tour ended in South Africa with visits to Johannesburg, Soweto, and Pretoria, the jacaranda city. |

Southern Africa (October 17 - November 3, 2003)| This tour of Southern Africa began in Cape Town, South Africa. Here we took a cable car to the top of Table Mountain for a spectacular view of the modern city and the Waterfront, including Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was held prisoner. Another magnificent view was at Cape Point, the Cape of Good Hope, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans come together. After touring The Winelands, we continued to the sand dunes of Namibia. Next stop was Chobe National Park in Botswana. |

Tour of France - Part 1 (Spring 2003)| Our tour of France began in Paris, from where we took the TGV train to Avignon. We then bussed south to Nice, Cannes, and Nimes. Turning north, we visited Carcassone, Lourdes, Bordeaux, Cognac, Tours, Normandy, and Rouen. After stopping at Monet's Gardens in Giverny, we returned to Paris for our flights home. The people were as lovely as the country itself. |
