Don't miss anything!

My art career was primarily as a subtractive sculptor of wildlife, mostly birds. I worked in the field for over 20 years, teaching about 18 years. I was the resident artist of the Havre de Grace Decoy Museum in Maryland. I exhibited at the most prestigious exhibits of the carving arts nationally, and regularly judged at the National Decoy Carving Competition held annually in New York. I developed asthma, which made continued teaching impossible. I later was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, and chose to retire from my carving and sculpting career. I have actively investigated many creative art forms, including painting with acrylics and watercolors, fabric art, cooking, writing, and making jewelry. I frequently do commissioned work for local galleries and individuals. My husband Tom is a retired US Air Force Colonel who flew fighter aircraft. He taught George W. Bush to fly jets during the President's service in the Texas Air National Guard and thus began a 35-year friendship with the President. Presently, Tom flies for a local flying service, mainly transporting doctors and medical personnel to the hospital facilities located on the nearby Indian Reservations. We live, with our Chow Chows, Tukee, Winona, and Lola, among the beautiful red rocks of Sedona, Arizona. I am also a pilot, but usually prefer to navigate when Tom and I go flying. We have also retired our Chow Chows from the show ring, but still enjoy traveling with them in our 38' motor coach. Lest you feel a twinge of pity for my physical ailments, let me tell you that my asthma has greatly improved since I have eliminated breathing the dust from the wood and stone, and that my Rheumatoid arthritis has been in remission for the past three years.

PHOTO COMPLIMENTS OF THE PRESIDENT
Tom and I were invited to vist the Oval Office on April 14, 2005. When the President served in the Texas Air National Guard, he was sent to Moody AFB, Georgia, for flight instruction. Tom, who had recently returned from his first tour in South East Asia, taught the young Lt. Bush to fly the T-37 and T-38 jet aircraft. They were both young and crazy and became fast friends. Fortunately for both of then, they mended their wild ways and remained good friends. The reunion in the White House was indeed a special day! Tom points to George W. Bush as an example of his students who have done well for themselves. LOL

TOM, ME, AND ICHI
Jeannie Z. always looked over our wall hoping to see the Chows whenever she visited her parents, who are our next door neighbors.  On one visit, she couldn't resist photographing our 12-week old puppies, but like most people, Jeannie was drawn by the magic of 15-year old Ichi.  She insisted on photographing our wise old girl, and we love this picture of her...one of the best!  Thanks, Jeannie!

Let me share with you something nearly all septic companies refuse to: there are two kinds of people in this reality. Those who assume septic systems are just "buried containers for waste," and those who've had raw sewage bubbling into their yard at midnight. I understood this difference the difficult way in 2005—knee-deep in sludge, shivering in a Washington downpour, as my brothers and I aided a veteran installer fix our family's broken system. I was fourteen. My hands blistered. My pants were wrecked. But that moment, something clicked: This is not just manual labor. It's people's lives we're preserving.
This is the harsh truth: nearly all septic companies just service tanks. They act like band-aid salesmen at a demolition convention. But Septic Solutions? They are special. It all originated back in the beginning of the 2000s when Art and his brothers—just kids hardly tall enough to shoulder a shovel—aided install their family's septic system alongside a weathered pro. Picture this: three kids waist-deep in Pennsylvania clay, understanding how soil permeability affects drainage while their peers played Xbox. "We didn't just dig holes," Art shared with me last winter, hot coffee cup in hand. "We discovered how soil whispers mysteries. A patch of cattails here? That's Mother Nature yelling 'high water table.'"

Let me explain something the majority of septic companies refuse to: there are two categories of people in this world. Those who believe septic systems are merely "buried containers for waste," and those who've had raw sewage bubbling into their backyard at 2 AM. I understood this difference the tough way in 2005—standing in mud, trembling in a Washington downpour, as my family and I assisted a veteran installer fix our family's collapsed system. I was 14. My hands ached. My clothes were destroyed. But that moment, something crystallized: This ain't just manual labor. It's families' lives we're preserving.
Here's the harsh truth: nearly all septic companies just maintain tanks. They're like quick-fix salesmen at a demolition convention. But Septic Solutions? These guys are different. It all began back in the early 2000s when Art and his siblings—just kids hardly tall enough to lift a shovel—aided install their family's septic system alongside a experienced pro. Picture this: three kids knee-deep in Pennsylvania clay, understanding how soil porosity affects drainage while their buddies played Xbox. "We didn't just dig trenches," Art told me last winter, steaming coffee cup in hand. "We discovered how soil whispers truths. A patch of wetland vegetation here? That's Mother Nature yelling 'high water table.'"
