| 3 P4270008 Before mowing. Named for General Lamarque, this rose is the result of a cross between ‘Blush Noisette’ and ‘Parks’ Yellow Tea-scented China’. A fine, vigorous climber, its flowers are of medium size, double in form, with white petals that have a touch of lemon yellow at the base.

5 P4270012 Before mowing. Climbing Old Blush. A hill country survivor, this China rose can be found rambling over old wells, fences and fallen down sheds. When in bloom this is an extraordinary sight.
| 6 P4270019 Abraham Darby Abraham Darby is the lighter rose. The red grew from the roots of AD, don't remember what Nellie called it. Need to get her to comment.

45 P4270115 I'm 99% sure this is Nanny Fulks' home in Paris, Texas. She was my daddy's mom. Was excited to find it. Somewhere there is a picture of my Nanny sitting by the steps with me. I was probably two years old. Must find it. That was over 60 years ago.
| 46 P4270117 I'm thinking that if we ever get back to Paris, I'd like to ask if I can see the inside. I picture the rooms Nanny lived in to the left. She took in boarders who lived above. Some rooms to the right as you walk in. One meal I can remember particularly. Fried chicken, small green lima beans, and wonderful iced tea with lemon. I can almost smell it,and feel it like it was yesterday.

| 51 P4270127 Now we are at Richard and Jean's home in Paris. They have a beautiful place. This is a small pond that they have built mostly by themselves. I believe some of the Koi are 15 years old.

| 59 P4270140 Another view.
| 60 P4270141 I believe this is 100 x 200 feet. The pond was dug of course, but the rest, laying of the rock, etc., was done by Richard and Jean with help from one or two other people.
|
61 P4270143 Good fishing here. Think bass, catfish, perch. Don't remember for certain. Jean said it needed to be fished as there were too many in there right now. You could see them jumping as she threw food out.

| 70 P4270162 This is but one of the many, many rocks they brought in. Thinking from Oklahoma. They have people who keep an eye out for rocks for them. . as Jean especially loves them.
