Guns - Don't Play With Them
This is what happens when someone plays with guns.  When I was sixteen I was shot in the foot with a twelve gauge shotgun.  Someone was playing with the gun and pointing it at me and I'm lucky that it hit me where it did, in the foot, nearly blowing it off.  Through the miracle of surgeries, I was able to keep my foot. It's still full of shot, and while very limited in things, i.e., no movement because the tendons were damaged, not a lot of feeling other than phantom which is very strange, I can walk, dance, etc.  I am a fortunate woman.

Tomorrow I'm having day surgery to remove the knots off the side of the toe. The doctors thinks they are similar to bone spurs. I'm also having the nail removed.

The blast went in on the side where the dent is and blew out the heel.

The foot is very fragile. Nothing bends any more. The nail grows around to the back of the toe. Very painful. Will be glad to have it gone.

What you see is what you get. The foot doesn't do anything, no bending of anything, but at least it's a foot.

The skin graft to cover the hole was taken from my right thigh.

You can see where the shot exited.

You can't see well, but years and years ago I had another surgery to cut some of the nerves as it was very painful (bottom instep).

It's done. They had me put my initals on the foot to be operated on.
