The late Betty Hollandsworth Jackson also wrote "The Holly Tree 2000" [and an earlier 1986 Edition), which also provided info beyond the Original MD Colonials. Nancy Brake's "History of the John Hollingsworth Family" [First H. Immigrant to MD] was a fascinating read, introducing info re the "Missing Link" between MD and NC/VA Pioneers. Unfortunately, very few SOURCES are cited so we don't have any idea WHERE she obtained her info: https://www.amazon.com/History-John-Hollingsworth-Family-ebook/dp/B007VSYWKI
Below I also included: "The Hollingsworths of Cecil County Maryland" Michael Thomas Peddicord, 2001. He concludes that there is NO EVIDENCE to support claims that they are QUAKER Descendants, which means that they are PROBABLY Related to our MD Hollingsworth Relatives. Col Henry Hollingsworth was Gen. Geo. Washington's Quartermaster, FEEDING & SUPPLYING Troop at Valley Forge. His sons and several other Descendants fought in the Rev War, War of 1812 and Civil War. Either activity would result in Ex-Communication from a Quaker Meeting House.
BTW: Religious Wars fought FOREVER in Europe, also resulted in similar conflicts in early America. Initially, Lord Baltimore allowed Catholics, incl. Eltonhead's, to populate West MD, esp. Annapolis, while Church of England (Anglicans after Rev. War) prevailed in the rest of Maryland, except for some Quakers from DE Colony mixing into Baltimore. In 1692, MD decided they had endured enough, forcing out the Catholics and Puritans, declaring the Church of England to be "THE STATE CHURCH" [so much for Separation of Church and State that had prevailed before that time]. Cecil County, MD (and some other areas) were divided into "Hundreds" [of Fighting Age Troops, an old Roman Concept], grouped under different Protestant "Parishes". Eastern Shore of Chesapeake, where our Relatives lived, was always Anglican/Episcopalian.
All THREE Husbands of Jane "MD-Immigrant" m1-CaptThoSMITH m2-PhilipTAYLOR m3-WmELTONHEAD Fenwick were KILLED during skirmishes between West MD Shore Catholics or Puritans vs our Eastern Chesapeake Shore Anglican Relatives. Her last marriage was to William Eltonhead, which resulted in her being a Grand-Daughter of British Lord General Richard Eltonhead, who was related to King Henry II [and hence also Charlemagne].
William Eltonhead sponsored indentured servant John B Hollingsworth, SR and hence owed him land upon maturity. A few years after Eltonhead was Executed by the Puritans, Jane Eltonhead's daughter, Jane Smith married our Relative, who had grown up together in the same household.
