WOW!!  Better than when I (thought) emptied six round from my duty 66 and proceeded to "dry fire" one into the floor of the secretary's office at the State Police Post.  It ended up going thru a reinforced concrete floor!

Did a similar stunt once with 39 Specials.  Ended up only using them in a model 19 "Smithon".  Almost made major with 158 LSWC's! Surprised the barrel stayed together, as most of the .40's I've seen peeled the shroud forward, usually bending the top of the slide.  Guess you've about worn out your "guardian" angel.  better get new glasses or a digital scale, before trying some new recipes, eh?  Heal up, and say thanks to your diety of choice...

Thank God your weren't seroiusly hurt. I've done the same thing myself but with 9mm's the extra spills out onto the floor.

Like my father-in-law told me (he was a master carpenter) "Measure twice, saw once."

The bullets seemed to seat harder than normal and the ring around the bullet as seen on the top cartridge indicated something wasn't right.  Duh !

Yeah it stung a little and was numb for a few hours, but the blood blister is nothing compared to how I felt when I looked at the powder scale setting and found the +5 grains mistake
