This is the marker for the burial place of Julius Michael Heilig who was killed near Mt. Jackson, Va. on the 23rd of Sept 1864. There are approximatey 120 men buried here. He was killed by grape shot to the liver in the Battle of Fisher's Hill or Fisher's Mill depending on just how the battle was named.
