Bloody Bridge on Driver Christian Road
This bridge, the largest on the island, has been repaired several times through the years. It spans a typical island stream with little water during the summer and a fine rivulet in winter.

Bloody Bridge
The Bloody Bridge story, which is of uncertain origin, concerns a harsh overseer, beaten to death by vindictive prisoners and walled up in the bridge's masonry, through which the tell-tale blood seeped, leading to detection and prompt execution.

Driver Christian Road winds up this hill above Bloody Bridge
Formerly Cemetery Road, in 1982 this road was renamed in honour of Charles Driver Christian, a prominent Pitcairn Islander, who wrote the music for some of Norfolk's favourite hymns, and whose land adjoined the road.
