Here is a collection of photos and slides of Phil that I scanned, along with some digital shots. Please sign the Guest Book and feel free to leave any comments or memories of Phil either in the box below the guestbook or on any individual picture. Aloha, Davd
5/21/07- I have uploaded a .pdf file of the program for Phil's Remembrance for those who were unable to attend. Thanks to Sue Ferandin for putting it all together. Also, please take a few moments to write some thoughts and memories of Phil for his daughters Breeze and Piper in an email to philmemories@gmail.com You may also include photo attachments of a reasonable size.
PS: Click on "Start Slideshow" and you can view all of the images (hit the "F11" key to maximize the window). You can set the time delay between the images and view the images in Large, X-Large, or Full-Sized. You can also pause or stop the slideshow and manually go back and forth through the images. If you are using Windows, just right-click the image and you can "Save Picture As" to save it to your computer.Another way to get all the images to your computer is to do the following: 1: (Optional) Clean out your browser cache, that is, delete the images that have accumulated while you have been browsing the web by choosing "Tools", then "Internet Options" and then under the "General" Tab, select "Delete" and click "OK" to "Delete all Temporary Internet Files?". This just makes it easier to find the images. 2: Select the image size you want - Large, X-Large or Full Sized (best for printing). 3: Start the slideshow (it may take a while to download all the images, especially if you select "Full-Sized") 4: After the last image has displayed, choose "Tools", then "Internet Options" and then under the "General" Tab, select "Settings", then "View Files". All the images will be here in your cache (you can find them easier if you sort the items by date by clicking the "Last Accessed" or "Last Modified" column header.) 5: Select all the jpgs (hold down the "Shift" Key to select a range of images) and then right click and select "Copy". 6. Open any folder where you want the pictures to go and right click and paste all the selected images into that folder.

Phil was always larger than life to so many of us, we will miss his colorful stories, adventurous spirit, generosity and keen ability to teach others the skills he possessed (like sailing, navigation, crashing a mountain bike, how to apply a butterfly bandage, etc, etc.). While I was growing up Phil was just like an older brother/ mentor to me. We lost touch over the last decade or so and I regret that I never told him what a positive influence he was in my life. We will miss you Phil, your spirit sails on! Love and Aloha to his family- may you find peace. Thanks & love to you Dave Lewis for the step back in time :) - Chantale Merrick, Mon, 28 May 2007 1:37PM
Wow, you did a really good and thorough job Dave, like usual. I remember our Haleakala ride with great fondness, it's great to see those pictures posted here. That was a rough ride in places, and I learned from Phil to carry spare tubes and a pump, my patching didn't work well on my "pinched" tube so I had to borrow his pump many times on the way down and he was gracious about it every time. That was the funnest ride I've experienced, because of you other riders. Phil was a good guy and he obviously knew a lot of good people. - Darryl Koon | www.ilhawaii.net/~ddw, Sun, 27 May 2007 11:47AM
Aloha Phil! It has been an enjoyable ride and going back to so many moments in this life reminds us of the beauty we've shared.God Blessed you, yours, and those whose lives you've touched. Thanks for making this world a better place. You will be missed for now. Until we meet again.....Your Friend, Joe Leineweber - Joe Leineweber, Thu, 17 May 2007 11:32AM
My aloha goes out to his family and friends. You were lucky to have such a wonderful person in your lives. I wish I could have known him better... - Bret Jahnke, Wed, 16 May 2007 6:10PM
You did a beautiful job putting this together. Thank you for sharing your memories with the rest of us. - Tama Pickford, Wed, 16 May 2007 1:30PM
What a wonderful presentation that captures the essence of Phil's adventures. He certainly lived a great life- cut way too short. These will be cherished by many- and your efforts to share them (I know how long it takes to scan photos) is appreciated. Mahalo! Sue - Sue Ferandin, Wed, 16 May 2007 9:37AM
