Homebuild truck (Lil Putt-Putt) Is Sold (May, 2011)I resently sold this truck to a Collector in NC. It was time to let it go! Over the years I had a lot of enjoyment from working and shoving the truck at many shows. I hope the new owner will have as much enjoyment from it , as I had!! --------------------------------------------------------- This truck was original build in the late 70's in Vermont. I have owned the truck since the mid 80's and during this time changed or rebuild just about the all the mechanical parts of the truck. It seems like a newer ending project. had a lot of fun taking the truck to many shows and parades. A real attention getter, where ever it has been on diplay, is it a Engine show, Car show or a parade. Had the Truck at a car show once, where I was parked next to a fellow with a Dodge Wiper! He was not to happy, as the truck attracted more attention than his Wiper!! Specifications are as follows! Frame: From a late 40's Dodge car Body: Georgia-Pacific wood product's Engine: 6 HP Fairbanks-Morse Trottle govn. enclosed crank El System: 12 volt. El Start, Generator, Headlights, turn signal. Brake light. Drive: Double "V" belts w/ spring loaded idler pulley used as clutch Transmission: 4 speed from Ford Pickup Rear End: From Chevy pickup Brakes: 4 wheel Hyd. drums w/ parking brake Weight: 2800 Lbs. My 89 Peugeot 505 5 Speed turbo (May 5, 2011)After giving it a lot of consideration I have Sold the 89 5 Speed Turbo That I bought last spring. Reason for selling the car, I have my 86 505 TD Wagon and the 84 604 TD and then I also have an 95 Chevy Silverado. And after all I'm a "Dieselhead" . I love the versatility of the 505 Wagon The comfort and handling of the 604, and the Chevy as a backup vehicle! ----------------------------------------------- This is some photos of the 89 Peugeot 505 5 speed turbo that I bought resent. the car had a lot of electrical problems. Car had been sitting unused for about 5 years so there was a lot of corrosion on the connecters Etc. After a lot of cleaning and application of El. grease, most of the problems has been solved. Also had to repair the sunroof cable ( see other album about the repairs) Car runs real nice now and I'm thinking about a fresh paint job!! |

Sunroof repair on my 89 505 Turbo 5 Sp. (April 11, 2011)Sun Roof Repair on my 89 505 Turbo
The Sunroof on the 89 505 Turbo that I recently bought, had a nonworking sunroof. On closer inspection I found the Plastic sheeting that guides the cable was broken in several places. In order to get it to work I would need a new sheeting for the cable to run in! After giving it some tough’s on how to do the repairs. I finally made a trip to our local hydraulic hose repair shop, he had had an 3/8 hose with a Teflon lining and wire braiding covering. Bought a 63” length and had him crimp on a female ¼” pipe fitting on each end. After lubricating the hoes with some non sticking Teflon lubricating, the cable mowed very freely. Slid the cable into the hose and attached the hose to the power unit in the trunk, I used a hose clamp next to the ¼” pipe fitting, took a length of wire and twisted it around the sunroof motor mount, in order to prevent the cable from slipping away from the motor. Then I tightened up the cable so the other end mated with the stationary cable guide in the roof of the car. Made up bracket like this --,_,-- with a slot to hold the nut on the ¼ “ pipe fitting, drilled holes in the bracket to hold the cable in place. I’m not sure about other 505 models, but on the 89 505 turbo that I have, the back of the head liner drops down, when the pushpin taps are released, so access was no big deal. Well After having the cable/hose attached at both ends, the moment of truth!! The sunroof opened and closed effortless!! WOW Love to have a working sunroof! The total cost for the hose and fittings was $57.47 and a couple hours of work plus some scraped knuckles!! But well worth the feeling of fresh air blowing around you head. ============ I have since sold this car To a collector |

The meet started at 11AM and at 1 PM there was a real nice buffet lunch served. Everyone had a great time!! My 84 Peugeot 604GTD (Summer of 2009)I bought this 604GTD in NC in March 2009, I had been searching for a good 604 for sometime, looked at several, most was very rusty or overpriced. This one is about as rustfree as any 604 one could find, did have a lot of electrical and vacuum problems, needed the leather seats restiched, new fabric installed on the door panel's, front struts repaired. Also the paint was really badly weathered, clearcoat was peeling on hood, roof and trunk. The real nice feture of the car was that it had been fitted with an 2.5 liter XD3T engine and the 4 speed overdrive Auto tranny out of an 87 505 TD. also had 4 new tires! After fixing all those problems, I drove the car on several trips. Car is a great driver and a real joy to drive. So I desided to spend the $$$ on a fresh paint job, so after remowing all exterior trim, bumpers Etc. off to the paint shop, now the car looks nearly new. Since then I have installed Keyless entry, Even got the Close Window's/ sunroof to work from the remote, a real nice feture!! |

09 Schlick car meet (October 10, 2009)Again this Year I made the trip to Indiana to Jim Schlick's "Pam's Memorial Fall car show" We all had a great time looking at all the interesting cars, specially Jim's collection of real nice Peugeot car's. The event started around 11AM, Jim served a real nice buffet at 1PM, lots of delicious food, vine and beer Etc. There was not to many Peugeot cars, I guess that Indiana is not really peugeot country, But Jim's fleet of peugeot's more than made it up, there was several MG's, an Avanti, BMW's, Renault, several American classic's. Around 4PM about 20 Harley Davidson Bike's rolled in, they are all members of a Harley group that Jim belongs to!! Yes Jim is also a Harley driver!! Surprice!!! Jim and pam took many long trips together on their Harley's before Pam's passed away. The weather was great, nice sunshine all day, I wonder if Pam had something to do with that, because it had rained a lot during the week and then the sun came for the show ??? I drove my newly restored 84 604 GTD to the event, a 1400 mile round trip from Richmond, VA, car ran great not a single "Hickup" on the whole trip! |
