The Arkansas State House
Beware of dogma... usbank?
by the Clinton Library
Walking away from the Clinton Library, another pair of bridges.
a sculpture of cannonballs by the Old State House.
The Capitol Hotel in the early morning reflected in the Peabody hotel windows.
Little Rock Central High School as seen in the reflecting pool in front of it.
Little Rock Central High School, where the army had to be called in to allow nine students to get their education in 1957 simply because of their skin color.
The Clinton Presidential Library.
An eagle sculpture... right under a highway overpass.
One of the statues of the Little Rock Nine - the teenagers who simply wanted a good education.
Another statue of a student,
And another,
And two more. The sculptures and the National Park Service visitor center exhibits were very powerful - this is a story every American needs to know.
a sculpture by the river, late afternoon.
Ripples outside the Clinton Library... it was windy that day.
This is the group of the Little Rock Nine, looking up at the governor's office. It was Gov. Faubus who called out the national guard to try to prevent them from entering the school... and Pres. Eisenhower who called out the army to let them in.
