Due to Pennsylvania Central's cancellation (perhaps fortuitous), of a large Martin 202 order, Capital was left without a new generation twin engined aircraft. The upgraded Super DC-3 was thought to be a possible remedy, but the 3 delivered were quickly sold and Capital never operated a pressurized twin.
