1 DSCF7868 Fully assembled PTO
2 DSCF7784 Make sure the brass washer is in place
3 DSCF7785 Install the 540 seal from the inside
4 DSCF7788 Install the 1000 seal from the outside
5 DSCF7793 Install the 540 shaft and snap ring
6 DSCF7794 Install the 540 gear
7 DSCF7797 Isntall the snap ring to hold the gear
8 DSCF7801 Install a new O-ring on 1000 shaft
9 DSCF7802 Install the 1000 shaft and snap ring
10 DSCF7804 Install the idler gear and pin
11 DSCF7808 Check the little pin in the spool and make sure its not loose or worn
12 DSCF7815 Spool and related parts
13 DSCF7812 Install new stem seal in stem gland
14 DSCF7820 Install new boot on assembled spool
15 DSCF7821 Install new gasket on hosuing. Make sure you get the right one
16 DSCF7824 Install new brake pistons after the new O-rings are installed
17 DSCF7825 Install brake springs on pistons
18 DSCF7826 Install thrust washer and make sure tab is in slot. I put a little grease on the back of it to hold it.
19 DSCF7828 Set housing on lower half and make sure everything stays in place
20 DSCF7831 Install bolts and draw halves together evenly
21 DSCF7832 Make sure machined flat on idler pin is lined up with pump groove
22 DSCF7834 Check teflon rigns for wear and damage. If they are good they are reusuable
23 DSCF7836 Install clutch basket and compress with tool to get snap ring groove to line up
24 DSCF7838 Install snap ring
25 DSCF7839 Install new O-ring in center of clutch piston
26 DSCF7840 Install new lip seal on outside of piston. Make sure lip points toward the oil side
27 DSCF7841 Install piston using a downward twisting motion to avoid cutting the lip seal. Some units will have another snap ring to install on the shaft after the piston
28 DSCF7844 I always like to braze the clamp to the tube before I take it off to install a new seal. This prevents knocking it loose during installation
29 DSCF7846 Measure the distance of the seal before removing. The book also has a spec on this
30 DSCF7847 Check suction tube screen and clean as needed
31 DSCF7848 Install clutch disks starting with 2 metal ones first
32 DSCF7849 Then install a fiber disk
33 DSCF7850 Alternate fiber, metal, fiber and so on untill all 7 fibers and 9 metals are installed and ending with a metal disk
34 DSCF7851 Install large spacer
35 DSCF7852 Install snap ring
36 DSCF7853 Check for side movement of clutches
37 DSCF7855 Install spring and spring tool and compress spring to get snap ring on
38 DSCF7856 Make sure snap ring is seated in groove and inside the rabbited area of spring retainer
39 DSCF7857 Install a new pump base gasket and make sure oil hole is lined up
40 DSCF7858 Be sure idler flat is lined up again
41 DSCF7859 Check needle bearing inside pump hub
42 DSCF7865 Install pump and using a twisting downward force intill all disks are splined up and pump is setting on gasket. You can look inside the clutch stack to make sure the lowest disk turns when pump shaft is rotated
43 DSCF7867 Again, make sure idler flat is properly aligned
44 DSCF7870 Apply some grease to transmission and stick the mounting gasket in place
45 DSCF7871 After the PTO is in place tighten all the bolts
