Check the little pin in the spool and make sure its not loose or worn

Install new stem seal in stem gland

Install new boot on assembled spool

Install new gasket on hosuing. Make sure you get the right one

Install new brake pistons after the new O-rings are installed

Install brake springs on pistons

Install thrust washer and make sure tab is in slot. I put a little grease on the back of it to hold it.

Set housing on lower half and make sure everything stays in place

Install bolts and draw halves together evenly

Make sure machined flat on idler pin is lined up with pump groove

Check teflon rigns for wear and damage. If they are good they are reusuable

Install clutch basket and compress with tool to get snap ring groove to line up

Install new O-ring in center of clutch piston

Install new lip seal on outside of piston. Make sure lip points toward the oil side

Install piston using a downward twisting motion to avoid cutting the lip seal. Some units will have another snap ring to install on the shaft after the piston

I always like to braze the clamp to the tube before I take it off to install a new seal. This prevents knocking it loose during installation

Measure the distance of the seal before removing. The book also has a spec on this

Check suction tube screen and clean as needed

Install clutch disks starting with 2 metal ones first

Then install a fiber disk

Alternate fiber, metal, fiber and so on untill all 7 fibers and 9 metals are installed and ending with a metal disk

Check for side movement of clutches

Install spring and spring tool and compress spring to get snap ring on

Make sure snap ring is seated in groove and inside the rabbited area of spring retainer

Install a new pump base gasket and make sure oil hole is lined up

Be sure idler flat is lined up again

Check needle bearing inside pump hub

Install pump and using a twisting downward force intill all disks are splined up and pump is setting on gasket. You can look inside the clutch stack to make sure the lowest disk turns when pump shaft is rotated

Again, make sure idler flat is properly aligned

Apply some grease to transmission and stick the mounting gasket in place

After the PTO is in place tighten all the bolts
