Sue bought this top of cars and trucks and made a border and tied it to make a quilt for our grand nephew, Devin.
enlarge 281KB, 1024x768 4 2010 IMG 2691 Sue added Names for the trucks to refer to Devin's family members.
A comfort quilt for Janet. I knew she would LOVE the cat posing on her quilt...heh, heh! Again, basting backing, batting, top together on hardwood floor. Move furniture and get out the masking tape!

Evan's bear paw quilt. Lots of mooses in fabric, hand quilted. I got very weepy, when I gave it to him, because he just "beamed," and wrapped himself up in it! Worth all the work, just to see his reaction!
Log cabin, machine pieced and hand quilted. For whichever grandchild gets married first! I do love this pattern, and fabric, and the quilting is not bad, if I do say so, myself!
Mary Jane found this top when she was cleaning out Aunt Ruth's home. We think it is by Grandma Smith. I offered to quilt. After I remade the blocks to equal size, added alternating blocks, setting strips, and border, I realized it would take me forever to hand quilt. Cathy Reitan finished it for us. Mary Jane lucked out, having Cathy, not me as quilter!
The blocks were originally sewn together as a single top, and Sue was supposed to put it together with batting and backing. It was very frustrating as the top was not square, and one side was considerably longer than the other. To solve the problem, Sue separated the blocks and squared them off, and even had to add patching material to get all the squares to be uniform. She then added the yellow strips to separate the blocks.
Hand quilted, stairway to stars, there is Rajah, in cat heaven, Tux, Mavis, Basie. 3 pieced and appliqued, one iron-on applique. Assorted 9 patch blocks.

Blocks given to me by Mary Ann Johnson, fellow member of Vintage Quilts group. I put together with white setting, didn't like it, ripped it apart, did blue! oh, and Mavis!
