Cooking supper at Mariane Lake - Jon, Roger, Eric, and Shelby.  We met 3 hikers (my contemporaries) who camped near the snag beyond Jon.  They were from Montana and moving slow as one of them had a knee brace and was complaining about the rough trip along Otter Lake.  They had tried to go high but dropped back down to follow the shore like we did.
