Hi Cathy! My friend Helene Marker referred me to your site and I spent three hours here last night just loving every moment of it...and drooling. I also want to tell you that I adored the cat pictures, especially the "boxes". We have cats and I know that you could wait three lifetimes to get pictures like that!! My 18 year old daughter was very enthralled with Bluboi----her dream is to own an old 'Vette someday...lol. I knew I was a goner when I saw picture number 1, the CIS parure. Green and purple together have always been a favorite with me. I want to thank you for your incredible generosity in sharing this with the everyone. This is much better than visiting any museum or jeweler because I could linger and really look. I am very much a newbie to the jewelry world and this was so educational and inspiring for me. I have been buying beads and beading for a long time, but was not at all informed about designer jewelry until Helene got hold of me. From your site, I was amazed to discover that I have a lot of Haskell beads, which I attribute to sheer luck and my love of the unusual. I am a serious Czecho-Deco and Uranium glass freak, but my newer beads....many of them are Haskells. I want to thank you for that...not that I love them any more or less, but it is nice to have my taste---my love of the weird and beautiful---validated. As I said, I am not much of a jewelry collector but I do have one signed Haskell necklace which is in a pile waiting to be restrung. The beads and components are in wonderful shape but it was strung on fishline and had tightened to the point that I was afraid the beads would be damaged by rubbing against eachother. (ARRRGH-this happens way too much with old necklaces.) I don't know if the fishline was the original string or if somebody had restrung it on the fishline, but it was one of the few finished pieces that have begged me to buy it. The beads are green and mildly UV reactive. I have bookmarked your pages and will return to them again and again. I hope you will keep collecting and adding to this always. Once again, thank you so much!!! Best wishes and happy hunting!! Libby Stone - Libby Stone, Tue, 24 Jun 2003 3:29PM | ||
