Tip is cut off almost to the barrel of a 1cc syringe

| Hole is widened with a tool (awl) I keep for that purpose
|
After I clip the syringe tip, I just insert the awl and rotate it around a few times to widen the hole.
| Lightly file cut end to smooth any rough edges
| Critical Care is mixed to a consistency just slightly looser than Cream of Wheat. A higher volume of the thinner CC may need to be fed to achieve the proper dose.
| Because there is a smaller amount being worked with, the formula can be stirred between fillings to keep the formula thin (in larger syringes, I’ve found that it starts to thicken pretty fast).
|
The formula comes out of the syringe in droplets. This makes it very easy to feed smaller amounts at a time. Add water as needed to thin the Critical Care.
| Critical Care by Oxbow; given via a spoon in the beginning
| Eating Critical Care from a spoon - she loved it!

Jasmine being fed Oxbow's Critical Care in a 35cc syringe
| The stiffer version was a supplement to her hay, pellets, and veggies and was to maintain her eight
| Jasmine eating some of the tub of Critical Care that was donated to her by her vet
| A stiffer version (less water) was used when the CC was put in a little dish

Snowy's feed is being supplemented with Oxbow's Critical Care to try to put some weight on her.
