Patsy's Wedding Dress and my MOH Dress
I was tasked to make Patsy's wedding dress for her Vegas shindig this past April. She is like my sister and I was so excited to get a chance to make her dress for her big day. We went hunting for a dress style that worked best on her and then for fabrics in the city. She finally chose a simple a-line gown with diagonal ruching along the sides that gave a slimming look and was very mod. She looked gorgeous :-D
Since I was making her dress, I figured I'd make my MOH dress to coordinate. I couldn't really afford a David's Bridal gown, and I know I wanted something that would fit me right. I sent Patsy color swatches and she approved a beautiful watermelon pink chiffon and satin with a chocolate satin ribbon bow. The bust is ruched to coordinate with the ruching on her wedding gown. I used the same Vogue pattern I had used for the Marchesa repro, but this time I actually made it somewhat to the pattern. | Date(s): April 2011.
