UPDATE! 05-30-16 (YES, 10 years later!) Pictures of the tulle overskirt I made for the vow renewal dress!
Update! 05-30-06 Finished pictures!
Update! 05-22-06 A few sneak peaks at the almost done dress :-)
Update! 04-20-06 My hoop skirt came in, yay! So I naturally placed the mock-up on top and all the gathers I worked so hard on, looked terrible on the hoop. Soooo, I took them ALL out and re-did them until I was happy with it. I'm gratefull this hoop was adjustable because it was QUITE full when I tried it on lol. I looked like a bell basically. Anyway, I have pics of the new crinoline with the re-done mock-up :-)
Update! 04-18-06 I added photos of the 2nd mock-up dress :-) In two weeks I'll be cutting into the good fabric.
Here are pictures of my dress in the making and all the inspiration along the way. I also have shots of the Bridesmaids dresses here too.

1 The front! Sorry for the closed eyes. I LOVE the dropped waist, great for people who are all legs like me lol.
2 The New Dress! Maggie Sottero - Capri Marie.
3 The back! Isn't it gorgeous?! I fell in love with the red version from the moment I first saw it in a magazine. All the little gathers are embelished with pink pearls, white pearls, and swarovski crystals. See Picture #8 for a close up.
4 This is the back when it is bustled for the reception :-) I won't be doing an overbustle like this, it makes the butt too poofy and I won't be able to sit easily (I tried while it was like this).
5 Side view complete with veil and headpeice.
6 Another back view.
7 Weeeee the happy Bride to be :-D "So beautiful." View Comments...
8 The detail on the skirt - these are everywhere there is a scrunch in the skirt.
9 Will just thought "You're so beautiful..." lol. "He was right." View Comments...
10 So of course he had to kiss me ;-) "I am SO happy for you guys..." View Comments...
11 Basically what the back of my dress will look like (with all the pickups too). "I would have given a lot t..." View Comments...
12 This is the back of my inspiration dress (thanks to another friendly bride for her photo). This shows the bustle stye that I want to do. A 3 point french underbustle :-) Sh also had the ruffle on the bust removed, mine will be like hers.
13 The finished Dress :-)
14 The gorgeous lacing in the back
15 Front of mock-up #2.5
After putting the dress on the new crinoline (adjustable hoop) the pickups looked horrible. I took them ALL out and redid it properly. It looks so much better now :-)
16 Back of Mock-up #2,5
After redoing all the pickups, it turns out the train was long enough... maybe I'll make it a tad longer though and add a few more pick-ups on it.
17 Side view - so pretty now with the proper crinoline under it :-D
18 Front of Mock-up #2 I really need to get a full crinoline for this. The A-line I have is too slim.
19 Back of mock-up #2. The train needs to be LONGER - still. The pickups looks great so far though :-)
20 Me, goofing around :-)
21 Front of Mockup #1
I had added about 12" to the bottom hem, but I'll need to add about 24" more to get the whole look without coming up to my knees.
22 Back of Mock up
I ran out of red fabric, so I had some purple that had the same sort of drape to it. I really like all the little gathers.
23 Side View
24 The new back with laces instead of the zipper :-)
25 I like the laces a LOT better than a zipper. On the real dress there will be a cream colored modesty panel under the laces, the laces and loops will be red :-D
26 The dress with all the pick-ups pinned in place. Can you tell how happy I am hehe
27 Anu and Patsy modeling their Bridesmaid's dresses with my wedding gown (yes that's me behind the dress form).
28 A few dress details glued onto netting and drying. The cutting board was wrapped in plastic wrap and the tulle placed over it. This way I can just glue the details how I like and place them where I want on the dress :-)
29 The detail that accents each of the pick-ups.
30 The 'almost' done dress.
31 Will wanted to help make the dress, so I let him sew in a pick-up. He's so cute :-D
32 The back, bustled up.
33 The front with the details. "Its beautiful! I cant wait..." "i will kill you for the 40..." View Comments...

37 10 year vow renewal dress before. I did not make this, as I did not have time. This was PERFECT for what I wanted, but it needed a little boost.
38 SO MUCH TULLE! 15 yards of 108" wide off white sparkle tulle! It was cut in half and double layered, making it 30 yards of tulle in the skirt.
39 15 yards (two layers thick) gathered into a 30" long strip.
40 The strip was sewn in the back to make a skirt, with an opening to get into it. A cream silk satin ribbon was sewn to the waist (hidden by the green sash) to finish it off. I put my dress form up high and trimmed the excess tulle from the bottom hem. It's so much more romantic looking now, and less bridesmaidsy.
