Purple Greecian Goddess
This is a dress for my auditions for Project runway.  I wanted to show one of my costumes, a RTW, and an evening.  I've always loved the drape and feel of silk chiffon over a layer of charmeuese, so that's what this dress is made of.  A beautiful plum charmeuese under layer with a black silk chiffon overlay, and a silk flower at the shoulder, it will be 'tied' with a satin ribbon or a ruched chiffon belt, I haven't quite decided yet.

Simple necklace to wear with it.
*This was nixed later due to the flower pin on the shoulder competing with the necklace.

Ribbon tape to hide the raw edges and give it a more finished look.  French seamed the inside seams too.

Victorian filigree inspired bracelet I made to go with the gown.  I wanted something 'Old Hollywood' looking :-)

Close up.  It was very simple to make and looked so elegant.

The back!
I had to "Make it work!" with the back because I got a little over zealous with the french seaming.  It was suppossed to zip up the back, but the FS ate up fabric and I had to lace it instead.

The drape simple hangs off the shoulder, the dress is held up with an elastic hidden under the drape connecting to the shoulder.  I totally love the back of this dress :-D
