Captain America USO - Back Up Variant
This is the back-up dancer variant from the NYC war bonds scene.  They have the Red/White skirts and blue satin bodices with the Sequinned Lapels and hats.  I'm working on the Satin Lapels and hat as well, but that is TBD when I'll get it done.
Worn for the Dragon*Con 2011 and 2012 Parades and for the 2011 USO Dancing Girl photo shoot as well as at NYCC.

Photo by christineroselli on Flickr. Taken on the USS Intrepid in NYC. The costumes are the real ones from the movie - this is not the group I'm with.

Pleated panels... lots of pleated panels! 12 red and 12 white for 24 total.

I pinned it to the ironing board during ironing to avoid the fabric from shifting.

Pleated, hemmed, and ready to sew into a skirt! All of this took at least 3 hours from cutting to this photo.

SKIRT! Another 2 hours later and this part is done.

Bodice pattern pieces. Based off a simplicity pattern.

Hat - check, lapels - check, dress - check! Just need to get that belt finished and make the petticoat. The skirt is very flat looking without it.

Bodice attached to the skirt. The skirt layer is sandwiched between the bodice fabric and lining. The real costumes had raw, ugly edges. This is a lot more finished and nice looking ;-)

Shiny! I actually glued my stars on with e-6000. They are NOT coming off for anything!

Trying it on to mark the back closure area.  I hadn't finished the belt yet in this shot.

I made myself a little purse to use in case I don't have Will nearby to carry my stuff.
