Xenia is a sensitive little lady...cautious about new situations but hopeful everything will work out ok.

Xenia came in extremely skinny, at only 14 lbs.

She has gained some needed weight and now is up to an attractive 17 lbs.

She was found to have heartworms and had to go through heartworm treatment. But she sailed through it with no problems and is now active and healthy.

Xenia is initially quite cautious in new situations, especially if she thinks you might be trying to grab her.

But she is VERY loving and once she gets used to you, she loves to come up for chin scratches, cuddles, and lots of kisses. She does fine with our teenagers if they approach her, but she usually doesn't seek them out. My guess is that she would go to great lengths to avoid younger children.

Xenia is generally a quiet dog and is calm and quiet in her crate. Since she has been perfect in the housetraining department and is not destructive or otherwise problematic in the house, we haven't found that she really needs to be crated. Here she is surfing the Internet...

Xenia does fine with the other dogs but will growl a warning is the others get too pushy or invade her space. At first she was somewhat intimidated by them, but now will join in a wrestle match. She can get barky at the cats... I think it's because they make her nervous and she is intimidated by them.
