Here's Wendy, a gentle girl who longs for loving tenderness. She is estimated to be 8 years old.

She weighs 15 lbs., stands about 12" tall, and is about 12-1/2" long.

Wendy had been turned in to a northeast Georgia high kill shelter by her puppymill owners who apparently felt she wasn't useful to them any longer.

Wendy came to us with a host of medical problems, including heartworms and mammary lumps. The poor girl had to go through heartworm treatment, 2 surgeries, and a host of medicines. It took about 4 months to get her healthy.

Wendy has been a very docile girl. For her first two months here, she seldom barked inside the house. Now that she is feeling better and more confident, she will bark when is feeling frisky and wants your attention, particularly if another dog is getting more than their fair share.

Wendy totally ignores the cat, so the two get along fine. Wendy has been good in the housetraining department but she doesn't know how to "ask" to go out, so if she is not on a regular schedule with lots of outside opportunities, she is likely to have accidents. She does know how to use a doggie door.

She continues to be a loving lap puppy -- very low key and low energy -- who is drawn to anyone who will give her gentle loving and patting.

What a beautiful easy-to-care-for girl who just wants some warm loving.
