Here is Wagner, an adorable little doodlebug.

He is a a loving little guy who got lost and ended up on a busy road one morning.

Wagner is 1-1/2 years old and weighs just 9 lbs. He is 11-1/2" tall.

Being lost must have been terrible for him, because he is the snuggliest, most people-oriented little fellow.

He is alert and curious... not shy, but not terribly brave. He will follow you around so that you won't leave him behind.

This laid-back boy gets along well with other dogs. He is particularly fond of his  foster "big sister," and will squeeze in bed with her if no human lap is open. Fortunately, she is very tender toward him.

He likes to play in the yard if you're out there with him, but would rather be inside when you are.

Wagner has an old break (healed) in his right front leg. It doesn't seem to bother him, but it left his leg a little crooked and he will usually favor that leg when he runs.

This quiet boy is happiest in a warm lap. He is not a pest about it, though, and seldom jumps up uninvited.

When Wagner first came to rescue, he was discovered to have heartworms so underwent treatment.

He likes to sleep at night in bed with his people.

He is well mannered in the house and housetrained (knows how to use a doggie door), though with occasional accidents.

Wagner looks like a great addition to my family - with a female lab and a cat.  I have been looking for a rat terrier for quite a while.  I am on the west coast so I don't know if I can get him.  Is this do-able?

Is Wagner still available for adoption? I saw on the website he had been returned. I am seeking a companion for my Pug and was interested in possibly a rat terrier. Please let me know if Wagner is still available. Shannon
