Meet Sage!
Enlarge photo 22
He had been an owner surrender to the shelter.
Enlarge photo 33
The shelter staff described him as very friendly and personable.
Enlarge photo 44
The owners who surrendered him to the shelter said that he is good with kids.
Enlarge photo 55
"Hey, you got me out of the shelter...now get me out of this crate so that I can play with you!"
Enlarge photo 66
Sage is happy to interact with people, even those whom he has just met.
Enlarge photo 77
He will jump right into your lap when you invite him to.
Enlarge photo 88
Sage is just a little fellow, only 13 lbs., but he is sturdy and pretty confident.

His previous owner said that he is reliably house trained, and while he hasn't been here long enough for us to verify his reliability, he does know how to use a doggie door and when it is not accessible, he will stand by the door and look at me over his shoulder when he wants to go out.

He is also very handsome, don't you think?
Enlarge photo 1111
Gentle and snuggly. He loves belly rubs.
Enlarge photo 1212
He has been a very good citizen in the house.
Enlarge photo 1313
He is apparently crate trained. When the car hatch is opened, he will jump right up and go into the crate. At night he goes into his crate without much urging, and he will sometimes nap in an open crate during the day. But he is equally comfortable on a doggie bed or lying on the rug at my feet.

"Is it dinner time yet?"
Enlarge photo 1515
He likes to play tug of war.
Enlarge photo 1616
I love the spilled-white-paint look on the back of his left ear.
Enlarge photo 1717
Outside he is relaxed and investigative.
Enlarge photo 1818
He does bark when startled or when having a "conversation" with the dog who lives in the house behind us, but indoors he is pretty quiet overall.

Just checking out the morning sounds...
Enlarge photo 2020
He is very eager to meet new dogs and has gotten along great with the ones he has met here or on walks. He can be rather pushy on first meeting new dogs, but after just a bit, when his excitement wears off, he is content with them and them with him.
