 1 Say hello to Rosemary.
| 2 She is a very friendly but reserved girl who is about 4-5 years old.
| 3 Rosemary weighs 23 lbs.
|
4 She was a little shell shocked when she was first pulled from the shelter.
| 5 She appeared exhausted and spent most of her first few days sleeping.
| 6 From the condition of her skin, coat, and nails, she appears to have been neglected for a long time.
|
7 But she is not at all shy of people and she really appreciates the attention.
| 8 Rosemary is a very, very quiet girl. In fact, we have never heard her bark or growl or whine.
| 9 She will play gently with a toy or chew on an antler, and she always does it silently.
|
10 After some accidents in the first few days when she obviously felt miserable, her housetraining has been good.
| 11 She will do her business pretty promptly when she is taken outside, but she doesn't show much inclination to go outside on her own.
| 12 ...except if it is a nice, warm sunny day, that is. Then she does like to sunbathe on the deck.
|
13 Rosemary has gotten along wonderfully with the other dogs here.
| 14 And she quietly interacts with the little dog who lives in the home behind us.
| 15 She moves slowly and tentatively wherever she goes.
|
16 But she doesn't seem overly anxious. Overall she just takes life one minute at a time.
| 17 Given the choice, she does like to hang out with people. She thinks Gary is pretty neat.
| 18 She trusts that whenever she goes up to him she will get some pats.
|
19 And she is right. :-)
| 20 Butt skritches are a favorite.
| 21 Watching Bevin running around the yard, she seems as though she would like to join in but just isn't quite sure what to do.
