Here's Mazda, a darling Rat Terrier-Dachshund mix.

He is a 4 month old puppy surrendered by his owners when their landlord let them know that their rental contract prohibited them from having dogs.

Mazda weighs 8 lbs. He stands just under 9" tall and is about 10-1/2" long.

Mazda is full of puppy playfulness.

But even more than running and playing, he loves lap time and snuggling with his people.

He is initially somewhat hand-shy with strangers, particularly men. But he warms up quickly once he decides you are trustworthy.

Mazda does love to play with other dogs, and will pounce on them with enthusiasm.

He is just starting his housetraining and will require lots of positive reinforcement.

He is also just starting to learn about leashes, but he is a good natured fellow and will surely learn quickly.

Zoom Zoom! Mazda pretending to be the sports car he was named after. We love how he'll do a few laps around the "track" then take a short pit stop.
