1 This is Lisbon.
2 She is about 8 years old.
3 She weighs 11 lbs.
4 Lisbon is affectionate and enjoys pats and attention from her humans.
5 "Don't you want to pat me?"
6 One of her favorite spots on the rug near the deck door, where she can catch some sun rays.
7 Even better... out on the deck when the sun is shining.
8 She is generally a low key girl, perfectly content to lounge around all day.
9 But when it's time for a walk she is rarin' to go! While she will will do a brisk 2-mile walk, she prefers a leisurely pace and actually is satisfied to return home after a half mile or so.
10 She is reliably house trained and knows how to use a doggie door.
11 She has a super speed tail when she is excited. She also does an adorable tap dance with her front feet and has a bouncy, perky walk when she trots around the house or yard.
12 Lisbon has a liver condition that requires us to limit her protein. She also gets an over-the-counter dietary supplement: Denamarin (containing SAM-e and milk thistle), which helps protect her liver.
13 On her low-protein diet, most of the time she is great and you would never know she had any medical issue, as she shows no symptoms. But occasionally she will have a couple days of severe illness. Then she bounces back and you would never know anything had been wrong.
14 She is hoping to find someone who will adopt her and give her the TLC she needs and deserves.
15 Lisbon gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home for the most part. But she does not like it when they crowd her and frankly she would prefer to not have to live with other dogs.
16 Lisbon is very attentive and food motivated. Click for a short video of her happy, waggly body at the prospect of a treat.
17 She will do about anything for a treat! She loves vegetables, cheerios, crackers, popcorn, and plenty of other low- or no-protein tidbits.
18 But what she loves more than anything is a nice comfy lap!
19 Yup! That's where she knows she belongs!
20 Ah, a nice soft Gary pillow...
21 One half a lap is better than none.
22 One of her favorite tricks is to squeeze behind you when you're working on the computer, then if you get up, she expands to commandeer the whole seat.

24 While she loves pats and attention from her trusted people, she can be apprehensive about being touched by strangers, so she needs a dog-savvy home where people understand when she "tells" them that she needs some alone time.
25 The thought of a mom or dad of her very own makes Lisbon smile!

27 AND a mommy's girl!
28 Sometimes staying on a lap is quite a challenge, but she is very capable.
29 When the lap isn't big enough, she just slithers her way up on the chest, hoping so sneak in a kiss or two.
30 When you're too busy to sit with her, she will await your return.
31 Helping Gary cut drywall. She was less help on the project than she may appear. ;-)
32 But whatever you're up to, she will be there to help you.
