1 Hello. My name is Kirin.
2 I am 1 year old.
3 I weigh 24 lbs.
4 I was found running in a neighborhood without identification. The kind people who took me in tried to find my family, but weren't successful. So they reached out to New Rattitude Rat Terrier rescue for help.
5 When I am unsure of myself, I display a calm, regal demeanor.
6 I am very gentle in all things -- taking treats, giving kisses, and greeting people.
7 What I am above anything else, is love-oriented.
8 I'd do about anything for patting and stroking.
9 I'll stand still for this as long as you're willing to do it. If you're sitting right there and your hands are unoccupied, I might paw at you a bit to remind you that you could be using them for my pleasure.
10 Occasionally I might even take your finger in my mouth -- VERY gently, of course -- and place it on my back or shoulder, to see if you're clever enough to take the hint.
11 I'm generally very quiet in the house, even when the doorbell rings or a guest comes over.
12 I am reliably house trained.
13 I really like being outside. I learned very quickly how to use a doggie door and it's great fun to run in and out. If you don't have a doggie door, that's ok... as long as you give me lots of opportunities for going outside.
14 Ah --- a roll in the warm grass!
15 I like to take my toys outside and chew on them in the sunshine.
16 I love chew toys!
17 I also like rope toys, bully sticks, and about anything else that I can sink my teeth into. I do also enjoy stuffies, but I admit that I love them to death and they don't last too long.

19 I'm curious about the goings-on outdoors. If the neighborhood dogs start carrying on about something, I'll listen but I don't join in the ruckus.

21 I can be apprehensive about other dogs that I don't know if they're at all pushy. But if they treat me right I don't mind having them around.
22 When my new foster sister got here from the shelter, she was shy so I gave her her space.
23 But before long we were good buddies!
24 I don't mind sharing my space with her.
25 I'm alert and curious, but I stay composed and don't get agitated about strange goings-on.
26 If you've got time to sit on a couch, I've got time to sit there, too, to keep you company.
27 Hello, I love you. Please pat me!
28 If you're busy working on the computer, I'll just settle in and stare at you, waiting patiently for you to pay attention to me.
29 You know you can't resist me!
30 I'm your constant shadow as you move about the house.
31 And as soon as you sit down, POOF! there I am!
32 Sometimes my foster sister is there, too, so I have to be creative about how I get your attention.
33 Since I have been in foster care, I've learned to "sit" on command and to "wait" until you verbally "release" me.
34 I think I'm pretty photogenic, don't you?
