1 Meet Jonathan.
2 He weighs 12 lbs.
3 Jonathan is 3 years old.
4 When he first got to his foster home, he was quite confused and unsure of himself.
5 Fortunately it did not take him too long to settle down and get comfortable.
6 Jonathan is alert and playful, with good house manners.
7 He gets along very nicely with the other dogs in the home, and he enjoys playing and interacting with them. Sometimes he insists on playing physically when the others are too tired, so he can be somewhat of a pest. But when Gala tells him off, he doesn't take offense. He just backs off and waits a bit, hoping she will soon get in a playful mood again.
8 When Jonathan came to us, he had a small "cherry eye" on his right side.
9 Happily -- and surprisingly! -- this has resolved on its own without surgery! It could, however, reappear at some point, at which time it will probably need to be addressed medically.
10 Jonathan is house trained and has learned how to use a doggie door.
11 He is not a fan of the camera and will turn away when he sees it pointing at him, which makes it difficult to take his picture!

14 With his dark eyes and dark fur, it is really hard to get good photos of him.
15 Is it playtime yet?
16 He likes to be near you on the couch when you're settled in to watch TV or read.
17 Hey, look at me! I'm up in Gala's spot!
18 Wondering if Ambrosia will let him play tug with her.
19 Happy that the answer is yes!
20 He is a sweet, calm fellow when he is comfortable.
21 But when he is unsure of himself (as he is when he first meets new people, cats, or other larger dogs), he gets agitated and barky, and might even try to nip defensively if he cannot back away from the perceived threat. Click for a short video of Jonathan meeting cats for the first time.

23 After he has a chance to warm up a bit to new people, and get confident that they are not going to hurt him, he is friendly and very affectionate.
