1 Introducing Edmi!
2 He is a 2-year old boy who weighs 15 lbs.
3 Edmi (right) had been turned into the shelter with his companion (father?) by someone who said she had found them.
4 Edmi was very scared at the shelter but even in his extreme nervousness was always gentle.
5 After being pulled from the shelter, Edmi (left) and Topi weren't sure what to think about being in a new place.
6 They were both wary and nervous for the first several days. Even so, they had sweet tail wags whenever they caught any attention.
7 Little by little they relaxed enough to approach and interact.
8 The conflict between wanting affection and being scared to get it showed in Edmi's face.
9 But soon enough he was ready to be brave.
10 That feels pretty good.

12 Learning to trust makes a boy handsome, doesn't it?
13 Edmi and Topi enjoy spending time outdoors in the sunshine.
14 Initially they were nervous about coming into the house, as though they hadn't had that permission in their last home. Topi got over this within a few days, but Edmi (right) is often still apprehensive.
15 "Are you going to scold us?"
16 For the first week or so, the two were almost always together, whether indoors or out. (Now that they are more comfortable, they don't always choose to be together.)
17 Do I look more confident?
18 I think I'd like some pats now, please.
19 Ah, yes, that is the right spot.
20 There were a few indoor leg-lift incidents in the first few days here, but as they learned the routine, things have gone well. With enough regular outdoor opportunity, all pottying is now appropriately done outside.

24 Edmi (left) and Topi are very much into getting treats, and they take them gently.

28 They learned that it is OK for them to be on the dog sofa, and they think that is pretty cool.
29 Edmi gets along well with other dogs, and is friendly on first meeting them.
