1 Meet Dakota!
2 According to the past owner who got ill and felt the need to turn him in to a shelter, he is now almost 8 years old.
3 He immediately started on a healthy diet and exercise plan, and as of 7/27/16 has lost almost 6 lbs.! He now weighs 24.8 lbs.
4 Dakota is reliably house trained and knows how to use a doggie door.
5 He likes to watch things going on, but isn't overly inquisitive. He will even watch a squirrel run by, with interest but without giving chase.
6 He loves treats when they are offered, but he is not a begger or a pest about it.
7 The exception is a tennis ball, which he is pretty good about catching when it's tossed directly to him. He doesn't run and chase it, though.
8 Dakota LOVES belly rubs. About the only thing he likes better than belly rubs is butt skritches. Or maybe he likes butt skritches better. He can't make up his mind.
9 Are you my new mother? Or father?
10 He has learned to "sit" for his dinner and is learning to "wait" before diving in.

13 And of course after a hike comes nap time.
14 Patiently waiting for his new family to adopt him.
