Meet vivacious miss Cha-Cha!

She is a friendly, affectionate gal who meets every person with excitement and enthusiasm -- even the vet and the vet techs.

Cha-Cha is about 1-1/2 years old.

When she first got here, she was a little underweight but she has gained a little padding and now weighs 19 lbs.

Her head and muzzle shape and coloring indicate that she has some other breed mixed into her rattie lineage... maybe a little boxer??

Cha-Cha LOVES attention and pats and interacting with you. She isn't a pest about it, though, so when you are busy she is content to just hang out near you and watch you and wait for you to come to your senses and snuggle with her.

Her coat is wonderfully velvety soft, making patting her enjoyable for all!

Cha-Cha gets along great with other dogs and loves to play.

Her housetraining is very good but not 100% perfect yet. She will sometimes "ask" to go out, and she knows what to do when she gets outside, but can't always hold it for long periods, so a frequent outdoor schedule is good.

Apparently she had been picked up as a stray by animal control. When they traced her microchip, they learned that she had been adopted from a different shelter but when the woman got her home, the husband said NO! So she was given to a neighbor but got loose, and because the husband wouldn't agree, they did not reclaim her.

It's just inconceivable that this personable, well behaved gal ended up like that! Someone even trained her to dance for treats. (Click for a short video.)

When Cha-Cha first got here, she was immediately at home, playful, and comfortable. Click for a short video of her trying to engage her new foster sister Sally.

She willingly shares her toys, chews, and space, and does not get possessive about her food bowl or treats. In fact, she will defer to other dogs who want to take "her" item. And she is happy to share with humans, too.
