One-year-old Bentley was left by his owners at a shelter because they were going to be moving.
He is a sweet boy who is very people friendly, housetrained, and well behaved.
He weighs 14 lbs., stands 11-1/2" tall, is 11" long, and has an infinitely pattable head!
Bentley appears to have a great deal of confidence, and always has a sparkle in his eye.
Don't let his "Mr. Sure of Himself" demeanor fool you, though. He certainly comes in seeking his share of attention and pats! He isn't overly "needy," but he does enjoy his one-on-one time with you.
Inside the house, he is fairly quiet and content just to hang around and be near his person.
Outside, he is inquisitive and fun-spirited, enjoying whatever the day has to throw at him.
Even the day after his heartworm treatment, when he felt terrible, he was gentle and loving.
Bentley gets along well with other dogs. He didn't pay much attention to the cats he met, but really hasn't spent much time with them.
His body language and focus make it clear that he considers himself above his fosterbrother Beemer in rank order. In the beginning he would non-aggressively exert himself in clear-cut ways, like staring and jostling. Interestingly, he doesn't exhibit this toward his larger female siblings.
Most of the time Bentley is just a laid-back guy, enjoying a peaceful, loving household, waiting for his forever family to find him.
Give him some attention, and he's your ever-loyal companion!
What a Sweetie! I'd like to adopt him but don't think I can afford the plane ride to Arizona as I'm on Social Security only. But he sure seems like the perfect fellow for me. - Sharron Barron, Thu, 1 Jun 2006 1:22AM
