Bemer was adopted on 6/19/06 by the Wilson family (Georgia).

1 Meet one-year-old Beemer!
2 He is 13" tall, 12-1/2" long, and weighs 14 lbs.
3 He is a gentle fellow who is very people friendly and follows me around like a lamb.
4 Beemer is a quiet boy who has very good house manners and doesn't mess with things that are not his.
5 He is housetrained, but we're not sure yet how long he can "hold it." When he first got to his fosterhome, he did mark a couple of times but hasn't done so since.
6 Beemer likes being outside and is interested in what is going on around him. He hasn't yet demonstrated much playful behavior, but he's just been through a triple whammy: shelter, neuter, heartworm treatment, so it's no wonder he feels unsure of himself right now.
7 And perhaps he feels a little bit intimidated by the other dogs. He clearly has no desire to seek alpha status, and he backs down from "rude" behavior of other dogs.
8 But he does enjoy being with other dogs and is very friendly with them, no matter what the size. (He was just as friendly to the 128 lb. bloodhound at the vet's as he was to the little kitten.)
9 Beemer doesn't yet know basic obedience commands, but he seems to listen when you talk to him, and will respond readily to "uh-un!" noises, so we feel sure it's just a matter of training.
10 He LOVES to be patted! He'll close his eyes in delight when you scratch under his chin and on his jaws.
11 Beemer is a cuddlebug who wants reassurances and loving, and gives it back to you in return, along with a few sweet, gentle kisses.
I have put in my application with Ratbone Rescues, hoping to adopt Beemer. Something about his little face has captured my heart! I have gotten to know a couple of other rat terriers through friends and family and now I would like one of my own!I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything will work out. - Betsey Wilson, Thu, 8 Jun 2006 9:34AM
