Here is Banjo, an extremely friendly boy who was rescued from a Tennessee shelter where he had been picked up as a stray.
Banjo is 10-12 months old, about 15" tall, and weighs 15 lbs. He is neutered, tattooed, microchipped, and up to date on all of his vaccinations and preventatives.
Banjo wants to play-play-play with all dogs he meets, although his liveliness and rambunctiousness can be annoying to other, less playful dogs, particularly grumpy older dogs who just want to be left alone.
Banjo so wants a playmate who likes to chase and wrestle, which he always does gently and with good humor. His foster sister is accommodating, but only up to a point, and then she gets annoyed at him for being a pest.
If there are no playful dogs around, Banjo wants to be with people and will beg for some lap time. Banjo has never met a person he didn't like. He is immediate friends with anyone who comes into the house, and wants to kiss and snuggle, so he would NOT make a good guard dog!
He walks fairly well on a leash and loves to ride in the car.
In just a few days he learned about housetraining and hasn't had any recent accidents. This smart fellow learned how to use the doggie door in no time at all. And he doesn't mind going out in the rain to do his business.
Banjo really wants to be around his people. When he first came here and we would crate him or leave him alone, he would set up a plaintive yodeling that was both loud and persistent (and annoying!!!).
He is inquisitive about outside stuff like insects and birds, and enjoys spending time outside.
But he would rather be in a lap... even if he has to share and even if the TV show IS boring.
